In April 2018, Valpak partnered with Costa Coffee to develop a new national initiative which aims to significantly increase the collection and recycling of paper cups in the UK and and is now co-funded by seven other major brands including McDonalds, Café Nero, Pret, Greggs, Burger King, Pure and Lavazza Professional.

The National Cup Recycling Scheme is a collaborative effort from major retailers to tackle the ongoing difficulties associated with collecting and recycling disposable hot and cold paper cups – this includes everything from coffee cups to milkshake cups.
